NetCableTV creates legal peer-to-peer movie download ring

Hey, we talked about this here, and also here… Seems some folks are starting to try it out.

TV habitsBoston-based NetCableTV say they’re launching a new peer-to-peer sharing technology that allows customers to download movies directly from one another’s hard drives (as opposed to a central server), and that the whole thing is completely legal. They also say that they’ve added two layers of digital rights management to prevent piracy. All that DRM stuff will most likely last about as long as it’s taking us to write this post, but we would love to see this actually work.
