Forcing a VM to Power Off instead of Shutdown

Found this on the 'net..

http://communities.vmware.com/thread/128527

In VMware Fusion (Mac) hold the 'option' key down before you click on Virtual Machine and you will see 'Power Off' instead of 'Shutdown Guest'...

Comes in handy when you have a Windows box that hangs on the 'Windows is shutting down' screen.

Virtualizing ESX4

I found this blog posting while creating my new development environmnet so that I can start working on an updated ESX_SRRSecure script for vSphere and thought it might be usefull to others without an extra set of servers for a vSphere lab...

Wordpress Permalinks and GoDaddy

I was kicking myself trying to get the permalinks fixed and what do you know, someone already had this issue with Wordpress and Godaddy.com

http://www.queenofkludge.com/wordpress-permalinks-godaddy-htaccess-file-patience-required/

The short answer is:Set your permalinks in the settings/permalinks page and then wait an hour for the backend to catch up.  Not sure what the wait is for but it worked.

Permalinks got all jacked up

Trying to fix so please bear with me.

New Hosting Provider

If you can see this then my move to Godaddy.com worked!  John needed to shut down the 1and1 server since there were only two servers on it (one of which was mine)...

And I must say, the folks at Godaddy.com were awesome!  I had a question and helped me post haste.
