VMware VI3 Certification Exam

Some of you may not know this but VMware recently released their new VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3 certification exam.  Well, after going to the VI3 class last month I couldn't wait to take the test.  I figured hey, I have taken some of the roughest Microsoft Certification exams in the past so this should be a cake walk.....

Wow was I wrong.  This was by far the most excruciating 90 min. exam I have ever taken.  In the end though, I passed!!!!!!

W0000T!

So now I just have to wait the 4-6 weeks for the VCP welcome kit to come in.

  1. Congrats - I sit for my exam next week. Any last minute suggestions beyond all the pdf's generated by VMware for VI3? My VI3 migrations have been flawless with 3.0.1, but there is always the paranoia I will miss a bit of test trivia.

  2. Well, most of the tough questions were around things like what kind of licenses client x needs if they have an 8 proc esx server and want to migrate to 3 dual proc. Definately know your troubleshooting and what default settings the install has for partitioning. How to identify LUNS and if the LUN is active/passive vs. active/active and that sort of thing. Go in thinking it will be the worst possible thing imaginable and you should make it. It was a rough test and all the others that I have talked to have said the same thing....
